TOWIE star Mario Falcone has admitted he's shy approaching girls, adding people expect him to act differently because of things in his past.

The reality star spoke about his love life during an open chat with housemate Dustin Diamond on Celebrity Big Brother after this week's Ibiza-themed party.

Mario confided: "I don't talk to girls when I go out, I'm too shy. Unless a girl approaches me or something like that, or is introduced to me, I can't go talk to them. I'm not confident enough. I'm really shy when it comes to that sort of thing."

The Italian tailor seemed to suggest his relationship with ex-girlfriend and TOWIE co-star Lucy Mecklenburgh had created a perception of what he should be like when out.

"I have fun and stuff but I'm quite shy and because of what I did to my ex-girlfriend, it's always expected of me. I don't like that. I always feel that people are looking at me and judging me. If I get introduced to girls, wicked. If I don't then it's fine."

Saved By The Bell star Dustin seemed surprised by Mario's confession, as he found him an outgoing and friendly character.

Mario also joked that he'd "lost [his] mojo", telling Dustin: "This house has killed my mojo. I haven't been turned on once in here!"

The Essex-based star split with Lucy earlier this year.

Lucy, 22, has yet to comment on Mario's stint on Celebrity Big Brother, other than tweeting: "Interesting... #CBB ..."

Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight on Channel 5.
