In a new trailer to promote the tenth series of the ITV talent show, Nicole is seen fighting back tears as she listens to one hopeful sing.
The 35-year-old 'Boomerang' star is clearly impressed with the contestant's voice as she gives them an approving "yes". She tearfully says: "From my heart, it's an absolute yes."
With 'Lifted' - a song by Naughty Boy featuring Emeli Sande - playing over the footage, the minute-long clip viewed from the perspective of a contestant shows "a face-to-face, eyeball-to-eyeball audition" as viewers see the return of the room.
Fellow judges Gary Barlow, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh, are also seen dishing out their verdicts, with Louis declaring: "There's nowhere to hide."
The return of the room means hopefuls will now have to audition in front of the judging panel, before moving onto a performance in front of a 4000-strong crowd at Wembley arena if successful.
The X Factor will be back with a bang as it returns to our screens with double weekend episodes! Dermot O'Leary will host the main show, while Caroline Flack and newcomer Matt Richardson will co-host the ITV2 spinoff series, The Xtra Factor.
We're looking forward to seeing how the four judges will gel, if any drama occurs between them and, of course, what new superstars will be born. Judging from Nicole's reaction, it looks like there'll be a few tear-jerking moments too!
The X Factor returns on ITV1 on Saturday 31 August at 8pm.
