Earlier this week, it was revealed that Chris had been dropped from Corrie after being unmasked as a vile online rapper called The Phantom.
In his YouTube videos, 25-year-old Chris wore a frightening Halloween mask and spouted bile about raping women and stabbing people with needles.
Following his sacking, Chris released a statement saying he "understood" when he'd been dropped, and now it has been reported that he could be taking part in CBB.
This year's series kicks off tomorrow night (22 August) and it is rumoured bosses have made a last minute beeline for the actor to get him on the show.
A betting industry source told the Daily Star: "There are rumours that he will use the show to explain himself and try to rebuild his career."
Chris landed his part as Tommy Duckworth in Coronation Street in 2011. He had previously starred as Justin Burton in Hollyoaks and as a contestant on reality show Dancing on Ice.
Following his sacking, he said: "I am mortified that I have brought so much embarrassment to my colleagues and employers these last few days.
"My biggest regret however is not to do with losing my job, but that I have hurt and let down so many people including those in a vulnerable situation and I am so very deeply ashamed of this."
