Ex TOWIE star Tom Kilbey claims that new cast member Charlie Sims is still a "gentleman", despite allegedly cheating on girlfriend Ferne McCann in Ibiza last month.

Charlie was caught getting cosy with a mystery woman while celebrating cousin Joey Essex's birthday on the clubbing island and now his relationship with girlfriend of three years Ferne is on the rocks.

But former reality TV star Tom - who was also in Ibiza with the TOWIE boys at the time - maintains that Charlie is still a great guy.

Speaking to Reveal at Virgin Media's V Festival, Tom said: "I love Charlie... even though he got up to no good.

"Yeah, I was on that holiday, the dodgy holiday. But Charlie is such a gentleman, I would never say a bad word about him."

In fact, Tom thinks that Charlie and Ferne might be able to get through this tough time, as he believes that all couples are hit by cheating allegations at some stage.

"I think couples go through all sorts together," he explained. "I think everyone has been cheated on or has cheated. People might think bad of me, but a lot of people have gone through that and a lot of people have got past it, so maybe they'll be that couple. Maybe not, I don't know."

The Essex raised entrepreneur and musician is currently living in London following his split from girlfriend and TOWIE co-star Lydia Bright earlier this year, but the former couple are still on good terms.

"It's alright, we're still friends. We're all good," he said.

While we had a few minutes with Tom (who was at the festival with his parents - aww!) we decided to find out a little bit more about his music and lifestyle brand, Merge LDN.

Tom is still on good terms with ex girlfriend Lydia

Speaking to us in the Virgin Media Louder Lounge, he said: "It's a little lifestyle brand that I'm doing separately from TOWIE. I've not really put my name to it either. I love Japanese culture so I've put a lot of my stuff out there and I've got a few stockists there. I'm just building this brand into what I think is a cool lifestyle."

However, Tom admitted that he chose not to follow in the footsteps of his former co-stars, who have featured their clothes and various boutiques on the hit ITV2 show.

"I didn't want to put [Merge LDN] on TOWIE because I thought it then changes what it is and makes it really commercial," he added.
