Alexandra Burke has announced she's releasing a free six-track record called #New Rules.

The 'Silence' singer is releasing the EP as a thank you to fans for their support and love over the years.

#New Rules will feature a collaboration with Wretch 32 and promises to show a "sleeker, more sophisticated take" on Alexandra's signature sound.

It will give fans something to keep them going until her third studio album is released next year.

Alexandra has sold more than four million records worldwide since winning X Factor - including hits like 'Hallelujah', 'Broken Heels' and 'All Night Long'.

It's shaping up to be a busy time for Alexandra, who recently signed a new management deal in the US. She's been building her profile over there, most recently with an appearance at a star-studded Chaka Khan interview.

Alexandra is just one of several X Factor acts venturing overseas. One Direction and Cher Lloyd have enjoyed huge success in the States, while Little Mix broke a chart record held by the Spice Girls when they travelled to the US earlier this year.

Alex's EP will be released 1 September through Alexandra's official website. (Fans can get a first listen through the Mail Online from 29 August).
