Charlotte, 27, has been in the music business since the tender age of 11 and it seems Simon Cowell thought she would be the perfect choice to help guide hopefuls through the TV singing competition.
But taking to Twitter last night (8 August), Charlotte said: "I got asked to do The X Factor job. I'd rather poke my eyes out with sticks that be a part of the machine that kills music." Ouch!
It's unclear exactly when Charlotte was offered the high profile role, but it is quite clear that she won't be asked again!

Charlotte got her first taste of stardom when she sang 'Pie Jesu' over the telephone on This Morning in 1997. This was followed by a performance on ITV's Big, Big Talent Show.
Throughout her operatic career, she sang for US President Bill Clinton, The Pope and The Queen. In 2005, Charlotte released her first pop album and, more recently, she has been writing and performing folk music.
