The Glee actress was left heartbroken when her boyfriend and co-star Cory was found dead in his Vancouver, Canada hotel room on 13 July. He was 31 years old.
On Monday (29 July), Lea took to Twitter to acknowledge the outpouring of support she's received from fans around the world, saying: "Thank you all for helping me through this time with your enormous love & support. Cory will forever be in my heart."
She also uploaded a photograph of herself and Cory together looking happy.
Lea has remained away from the spotlight since news of her boyfriend's death broke. Before today's tweet her only public comments had been a brief statement requesting privacy and a
message of thanks to fans delivered via her representative.
Her rep said earlier this month: "Lea is deeply grateful for all the love and support she's received from family, friends, and fans. Since Cory's passing, Lea has been grieving alongside his family and making appropriate arrangements with them."
The cast and crew of Glee are said to have celebrated Cory's life with a private memorial held in Los Angeles last week. Lea was in attendance alongside co-stars including Jane Lynch and the series creator Ryan Murphy.
A coroner has ruled Cory died of a "mixed drug toxicity" involving "heroin primarily and also alcohol". It's believed his overdose was unintentional.
Glee will return to US screens on 26 September with two scripted episodes followed by plans for a special episode remembering Cory, and then a hiatus as producers decide what to do next.
