The actress is most famous for playing Bella Swan in the Twilight series, but she is now proving that she can embody an array of different characters by playing a young American soldier that is stationed at the temporary detention facility, Camp X-Ray, in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
Yesterday (18 July), filming began in Los Angeles for the hard hitting new movie and we could barely make out Kristen on set, since she looked miles away from the various other characters we've seen her take on.
Sporting camouflage from head to toe, the 23-year-old appeared to be ready for action in her outfit, which included an oversized jacket, sturdy boots and a camo cap.
Her brunette locks were tied up into a bun and her make-up was kept extremely minimal, as she jumped aboard a boat and got straight to work rehearsing her script.
No doubt this jam packed work schedule will provide a much needed distraction for Kristen, after she broke up (again) with her on-off boyfriend and former co-star, Robert Pattinson, earlier this year.
Since the split, K-Stew has kept a relatively low profile and has only been spotted out on a handful of occasions - one being at Paris Fashion Week at the beginning of this month.
She was also spotted getting her very first tattoo in June at a parlour in Nashville, Tennessee, although she refrained from showing her fans a clear picture of what the inking was of.
