The Mean Girls actress is currently completing a court-ordered 90-day stay at a treatment facility, which is believed to end on 31 July.
She'll discuss her experience with Oprah Winfrey in a TV interview, before filming an eight-part series for Oprah's OWN cable network.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the series will follow Lindsay as she rebuilds her career and keeps on the right track.
Lindsay's mum Dinah has said she thinks it's a "fantastic" idea, telling E! News: "If anyone is going to help mentor you, it's going to be Oprah."
It seems the reality series might be filmed in New York, as TMZ claims Lindsay wants to leave California and return to her home state once she leaves rehab.
She'll likely make her first public appearance post-rehab in August at the Venice Film Festival where her movie The Canyons will be screened.
Lindsay avoided jail earlier this year by accepting a plea deal in March over charges stemming from a car crash in Santa Monica last year. She was sentenced to 90 days in a locked-down rehab facility, 30 days of community labour and 18 months of psychotherapy, along with fees.
She later described the rehab sentence as a blessing, saying: "I'm the happiest and healthiest when I'm working and I think this is an opportunity for me to focus on what I love in life. I don't think it's a bad thing, I think it's a blessing, not a curse."
