The superstar singer took to Twitter last night (9 July) to update fans on her progress after she got injured while filming a music video for the remix of her latest single '#Beautiful'.
Mariah, who was taken to a New York hospital on Sunday (7 July), said: "Dislocated my shoulder on the remix video with Jeezy, sporting a very fashionable sling for the next couple of weeks!"
Meanwhile her husband Nick Cannon, who was directing the video, called Mariah a "trooper" for the way she dealt with the injury. Speaking to the TODAY show on Tuesday, he said: "It was pretty serious. Not only did she dislocate her shoulder, she actually cracked a rib and she chipped her shoulder bone."
Nick explained how Mariah - who is now "fine" and "recovering" at home - "came back to the video early in the morning" to finish it off.
Explaining how the injury took place, Nick continued: "She was in this nice, beautiful gown, heels on and everything, and was kind of on this platform and reached and slipped and fell on her whole side."
Mum-of-two Mariah has been putting the final touches to her forthcoming studio album, The Art of Letting Go, since announcing that she will not be returning as a judge on the next series of American Idol.
