The former model was the victim of a horrific acid attack by an ex-boyfriend in 2008, which left her with significant burns and in need of a skin graft.
However, this hasn't stopped Katie from feeling happy with herself and she is now learning to live with her body hang-ups instead of worrying about being "perfect".
Speaking to The Sun, she said: "A few years ago, I never thought I would want to have an intimate relationship or wear a bikini in public again.
"But I went on holiday to Portugal last month with my boyfriend and I wore the tiniest luminous yellow bikini!"
The TV presenter also added that she suffered from various other insecurities before the attack five years ago, such as her height and her figure, but believes that these worries are just part of being human.
And Katie isn't going to let them hold her back or prevent her from having some fun in the sun! In fact, she credits her new found confidence to becoming older and learning to make the most of what you have.
In the coming months, Katie is set to star alongside Gok Wan in a new Channel 4 show called Gok Live: Stripping For Summer, which will encourage women to celebrate their different body shapes and empower one another.
