TOWIE's Joey Essex has said he's fine if ex-fiancée Sam Faiers wants to move on and date other people.

Viewers of the ITV2 show saw Sam enjoying a group date to the races with James Locke and friends on last night's episode.

James has made no secret of the fact he fancies Sam and wants to get to know her better, but when he asked her for a second date last night, Sam was hesitant and her best pal Ferne McCann later suggested she'd said no.

James and Sam enjoyed a group date to the races on Wednesday night's episode.

But during a Twitter Q&A with the official TOWIE account, Joey said he honestly doesn't mind if Sam wants to date James.

"It's fine, she's moving on," he told one fan. "I'm okay with it."

(Sam tweeted during the show: "When someone calls off an engagement ... I think I'm allowed to go to the races.")

However, when Joey was asked by another fan if he saw him and Sam getting back together one day, he replied: "Maybe in the future."

Another asked if he missed Sam. "I miss the old Sam," he replied.

In the meantime, Joey says he's not looking for love. "I'm going to stay single for a while. I'm not the type of person to move on that quickly."

Sam and Joey became engaged in Dubai earlier this year, but viewers saw Joey call time on their relationship while they holidayed separately in Marbella at the start of the month.
