Viewers of the BBC One talent show saw Andrea's mum sitting in shocked silence when her daughter won the competition on Saturday night (22 June).
Chatting on ITV's This Morning today, Andrea said: "I think she genuinely was [in shock]! I was told her face was trending online and I never thought my mum's face would be trending online, but she's definitely getting a bit more used to the idea now!"
Northern Irish singer Andrea, who is visually impaired, was coached by The Script's Danny O'Donoghue throughout the show, and beat bookies' favourite Leah McFall in the final public vote.
She performed 'My Immortal', 'Angel' and a cover of 'Hall Of Fame' with The Script to bag the recording contract prize.
"Have I had a moment to catch my breath? Not really!" she said. "There's the odd moment when I'm sitting in a hotel or in a cafe or something and I just pinch myself and think 'hold on a second, is this really happening to Andrea Begley?'..."
Yup, Andrea, it is!
"The last few days have just been a total whirlwind," she added. "It still hasn't quite sunk in. Even when I hear the clip back of Holly saying my name as the winner, it still seems such a shock and it's just been crazy... I've been talking to everybody back home, it's really really fantastic."
