Last night (18 June) reports emerged that the superstar couple had put an end to their search for the perfect baby name after members of the family were apparently overheard referring to the tiny tot as "Kaidence" in the hospital.
A nurse working at the Los Angeles' Cedars Sinai hospital where Kim gave birth on Saturday (15 June) revealed the supposed name yesterday and was said to have confirmed that 'Donda' was a tribute to Kanye's late mother, Dr. Donda West, who passed away in 2007.
Coincidentally, the rapper named his design company DONDA too last year, so it's clear that Kanye is keen on the moniker and carrying on his mum's legacy in any way he can.
In 2012 Kanye, 36, said of the 'Donda' name: "I have started a new company and I'm so excited about the name.... it's got the best name ever of all companies of all time!!!.... The name of the company is DONDA"
Although neither him nor Kim, 32, have released an official statement confirming the baby's name, Kaidence Donda West wouldn't be too far fetched. After all, it does follow on the Kardashian family tradition and begins with the letter 'K'!
Nevertheless, this could still be speculation, as just a few hours earlier yesterday it was reported that KimYe had chosen the name 'Kai Georgia Donda West', which apparently paid tribute to the state Kanye was born in and Kim's late father's middle name, George.
There have even been rumours circulating this week that the newborn could be called 'North West' - although we're hoping this one isn't top of the list!
Considering that Kim and Kanye may still be debating over a suitable name, we thought we would come up with a few suggestions of our own:
1. Kayla (it sounds so cute!)
2. Donda-Dash (double barrel forenames are in style right? Plus, this pays homage to both Kim and Kanye's companies.)
3. Kristina (this would keep Kris Jenner happy!)
4. Karma (a more unusual option.)
5. Kate (we all know Kim loves the Royal family, especially Kate Middleton.)
