The Coronation Street star is black and blue following training, but she is determined not to give up before she's even properly begun.
Samia, 30, says: "I didn't fall over for four weeks and then bang, I fell on my head. I got concussion and whiplash but I was fine. I went straight back onto the ice afterwards."
She adds: "My hips are so painful that if I touch them with the tip of my finger, it hurts."
Mum-of-one Samia admits she was always scared to take part in the ITV1 show because of the injuries she could suffer, but she changed her mind after her most recent milestone birthday.
"Dancing On Ice is the one show I always said I would never do because I was scared," she says.
"But something this year made me say yes. I guess it's because I am 30 now and I am not going to do it at any other point – and so I thought, 'why not'."
Samia has played Maria in Corrie for a whopping 13 years, but she feels skating is a lot more difficult than acting.
The star, who is partnered with professional skater Sylvain Longchambon, adds: "Dancing On Ice is way harder than acting. I would rather do live episodes all day long, seven days a week than this.
"But I don't mean that in a bad way. I am far more at home with acting and learning to skate is a big challenge for me.
"I think it is great to do something that scares you. It's brilliant fun."
