The New York Police Department has confirmed that Mean Girls star Lindsay, 26, was taken into custody in New York at around 4am this morning (29 November) following an alleged altercation.

Lindsay was later charged with third-degree assault. Police say the other woman involved didn't need medical attention.
Lindsay's reps have yet to comment on the incident.
The star has been making a professional comeback lately with her role as the late Elizabeth Taylor in Lifetime TV movie Liz & Dick, which charters the romance between the screen siren and Richard Burton.
Earlier in the night she was spotted attending a Justin Bieber concert and had tweeted: "I love all of my fans and @justinbieber @thewanted fans!!! Thank you so much for putting a smile on my face!! Lots of love."
