So how did you get the part?
Unfortunately I'm not at the stage where they just offer me Twilight so I had to work for it.! My manager heard about the audition and it just went from there. For 6 weeks I didn't really hear anything but then they were like 'you got through'!!

What attracted you to the character?
I've already read all of the books and seen all the movies and felt she was quite like me. She's extremely tall with long legs and a thin face. Plus it's such an interesting saga.
Was it a fun character to play?
Oh awesome! One of the things I did is watch almost every vampire movie I could get my hands on! I got about 15 vampire movies like Watch the Flame, Underworld and then I reinvestigated the Twilight saga! It was method acting - looking around and thinking of what it would be like to be a vampire.
Going from EastEnders to a Hollywood movie. How did you make that jump?
Well I've been in L.A for about 5 years and was doing a TV shows and a few smaller films, nothing really huge. There was one point I nearly gave up and was like 'OK I'm moving back to England' but then I thought I couldn't do it. It's definitely been a journey.
Have you embraced the Hollywood lifestyle?
Well I've had three boob jobs so far! But that's it, after the fourth job, I'll give it a break. There are a lot of people who have gone a bit crazy over here and messed with their faces. I do a lot of spirituality and meditation to try and keep grounded - and I read a lot of books.'

Can you see yourself staying out there?
I don't know, it changes all the time. A few months ago, I would have said I'd like to come back but at the moment I'm really happy. I think thanks to the opportunity Twilight has given me; it's reignited my passion for it.
Were you star-struck working with Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart?
The first time I met Rob (Pattinson), we were in make-up and he was having his hair cut - I was thinking 'How much is that hair worth on Ebay?!' (laughs), but in all seriousness, not really because I just think they're just extreme professionals and when you've been working in Los Angeles long enough you see all sort of A-List stars and they just become part of your peers.
Do you think Kristen Stewart's affair will affect the Twilight promotion in Autumn?
''I think that with Twilight it's such a big cast that they have the tools to get them to do what they want. I think that it's such a great vehicle that's been moving for so long. Everything's really going to be successful now given the publicity.
If you could do anything or be anywhere in 5 years time, where would you see yourself and what would you be doing?
I'd like to keep working in movies and be recognised for all the hard work I've put in. I have a strong interest in human development and like spirituality - I'd love to do more work in that area whether it's part of charity or life coaching.''
