US Startup my.Flow are working to create a tampon with an extra long string that submits signals to a sensor.
This sensor can be worn attached to the waistband of your trousers/skirt/shorts and sends data to an app on your phone.
The technology can analyse how saturated the tampon is. You'll receive a notification once it's reached full saturation.
They're seeking funding at the moment, but if their incredible creation comes to life, my.Flow plan to sell the sensor for a one-off price of £34.
And the "smart" tampons that you'll have to buy will cost a pound or so more than regular ones.
Set up to prevent toxic shock syndrome and stained items of clothing, my.Flow say their mission is to stop women having to risk an infection or "accident" ever again.
