Sleeping with lions might sound like the last thing you'd put on your To-Do list. In fact, it sounds absolutely terrifying.

But ZSL London Zoo's brand new experience isn't actually as scary as it sounds.

They're offering us a chance to nod off to tropical birdsong and wake up to a lion's roar instead of an alarm clock.

Gir Lion Lodge will open at ZSL Zoo London in May this year

There are nine cute little lodges to stay in

From May 25, their Gir Lion Lodge will be open to animal-loving guests.

The fancy lodge consists of nine cute cabins situated right in the heart of their new exhibit, Land of the lions.

If you spend a night there, you'll be guided around on an exclusive morning or evening tour. The hosts will tell you facts about the 17,000 residents of the zoo and how ZSL is working to protect these beautiful endangered cats.

You'll also get dinner and brekkie, and your private lodge has everything you need for a luxury night's sleep, including an en-suite. There'll be adult-only nights, as well as family times too.

It'll be open six nights a week until December 2016.

Prices start from £378 per couple, with each additional child place at the year-round fixed price of £50, including entry to ZSL's Zoos on both days of the experience.
