North Swindon police officers recently went above and beyond the call of duty.

They noticed a car driving "badly" and pulled it over, only to find it was a takeaway delivery man driving without insurance.

Having no option but to take the car away, the kind officers felt guilty about depriving someone of their Friday night meal.

So they decided to hand deliver the food themselves.

They posted on their Facebook page: "North Swindon Police had to 'take-away' a delivery driver's car last night, as he was driving badly and without insurance.

"As we like to keep the public both safe and satisfied we 'used our noodle' and made sure the Chinese food was delivered to some startled customers while still hot.

"They must have thought they'd gone crackers when they found a PCSO on the doorstep with their dinner!
