Who doesn't love a cuddle? No matter how old we get, nothing beats a good old hug - and Derek the orphaned wombat is no different.

He became an internet star when a clip of him running around the beach on Tasmania's Flinders Island was seen by hundreds of thousands on YouTube.

Derek loves cuddles

Derek was found in his mother's pouch after she was hit by a car, in December, and has been living on the island, where Kate Mooney has been looking after orphaned wombats for the past two decades, ever since.

And when Derek isn't running around the beach he loves a cuddle, so the tourist board, Discover Tasmania, is looking for a Chief Wombat Cuddler to smother him in hugs.

They are offering one lucky person (and a friend) the chance to fly out to Flinders Island for a three night stay, where the lucky applicant will not only get to cosy up to Derek but explore his very picturesque surroundings too.

Sadly though, the role is only open to Australian residents.

But with cuddles, beautiful beaches, and an adorable wombat on offer, this has got to be the best job in the world.
