Nowadays, it's practically impossible to come up with a unique way of proposing.

So many lovers have set the bar way too high – with flash mobs, skywriting, and even appearing on a magazine's front cover.

Nat asked for a new kitchen instead of a ring

When Darren Robinson thought about popping the question to his partner, the 38-year-old didn't want to just get down on one knee.

Instead, he asked Nat Fuller, 32, to marry him through bank transactions with references spelling out the big question.

The couple from West Yorkshire, who have five children between them from past relationships, said they often transfer money to each other for food and bills.

So Darren decided he would make a number of bank transfers to Nat, each spelling out a different word, so together they read: "Will you marry me? XX."

Nat then opened her bank statement to find the hidden message.

She said yes, but according to The Mirror, she's asked for a new kitchen instead of an engagement ring.

Good on ya, Nat!
