First there was the puppy who was fitted with braces, and on learning we all lost our minds.

Now, an even smaller creature has had dental work on his tiny teeth - a goldfish.

Mr Hot Wing, from Pennsylvania, USA, was having trouble breathing and eating.

So to fix his jaw, incredible vet Dr Brian Palmeiro, who works at Lehigh Valley Veterinary Dermatology, fitted him with mini train tracks.

The unusual contraption was made from the plastic of a credit card. And Mr Hot Wing had to be sedated while Brian carried out the delicate procedure.

After the goldfish came to, Brian snapped the happy customer and shared the photo on the surgery's Facebook page. And since, Mr Hot Wing has become somewhat of a sensation.

They posted on Facebook: "Fish Braces!!?? Mr. Hot Wing came in today for trouble breathing and inability to eat.

"He was born without a lower jaw bone and his mouth could not stay open. Brian Palmeiro did surgery to open his mouth and created this brace to help his mouth stay open."

We salute you Brian. You must have a very steady hand!
