A decade ago, physically getting off your backside and going into a shop was the only way to buy something.

Now, we've become so lazy that even entering our card details on a website feels like an epic task (remembering the expiry date is bloody hard, ok?!)

Don't worry though, our incredibly difficult lives and first world problems are about to be solved with… you guessed it, selfies.

Amazon has filed a patent for "selfie pay". This means we wouldn't have to go through the whole rigmarole of entering pesky numbers, hurrah!

The system would just require users to take two photos of themselves. The first will be to prove their identity, and for the second they'll have to snap themselves in a different pose.

Apparently, current facial recognition software can be tricked if someone holds a picture in front of the camera.

The Sun reported that Amazon also told the US Patent and Trademark Office that conventional passwords can easily be stolen.
