Us humans might think running a half marathon is hard work. It takes months of training, overcoming blisters and achy calves.

But one dog made us all look like unfit losers in comparison, when she inadvertently joined in a 13.1 mile race and ended up coming seventh.

Ludivine's grand entrance to half marathon running!

Ludivine, a two-year-old bloodhound, had just nipped out to spend a penny in Alabama, when she found a group of runners.

After following them, she joined in the Trackless Train Trek Half Marathon and ran the entire course.

And to rub more salt in the wound – she did it all in an impressive time of 1:32:56!

Her owner, April Hamlin, only found out her pet was missing when competitors and spectators sent her photos of Ludivine running the course.

She told Canadian Running Magazine: 'My first reaction was that I was embarrassed and worried that she had possibly gotten in the way of the other runners.

"I can't believe she ran the whole half marathon because she's actually really lazy."

Good job Ludivine!
