44-year-old Claire Rock was struggling with money and was desperate to make her five-year-old son's Christmas wishes come true.
But last week she came home to find a handwritten letter had been posted through her door.
The writer, who signed off as "a fellow human being" explained they knew Christmas wasn't about spending money, but they also know it costs a fortune and therefore were giving Claire the money to make the festive period easier.
Along with the moving note, the kind-hearted, anonymous Samaritan posted Claire £100.
The support worker, from Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, was so overwhelmed by the person's generosity, she burst into tears.
She was quoted in the Daily Mirror saying: "I want others to know that there are so many kind people out there.
"I just want to say a very big thank you."
