'Turkey-mergency' service will replace your burnt bird on Xmas Day

Insurance company Direct Line is rolling out a brand new 'turkey-mergency' service this year to replace any burnt, dry or undercooked disasters.

According to a survey they conducted, 23 per cent of the nation claimed their biggest worry on Christmas Day was cooking a turkey.

So they've come up with an initiative to save diners in the event of a kitchen emergency.

A study revealed Londoners as the worst Xmas cooks

Anyone who signs up to the free service online will be offered a same-day replacement turkey if they manage to ruin their own on 25th December.

All they'll have to do is tweet the company, and they'll provide a new, freshly-cooked replacement bird straight to their home.

Starting this year in South London, the idea for the scheme came after research found 68 per cent of people have never gad a perfect turkey. And 58 per cent admitted suffering from 'advent anxiety' – a new term coined to describe festive-based stress.

The study also revealed the worst cooks in the country and who was most likely to burn their Christmas meal. Londoners were the worst culprits, followed by those in the North East and Scotland.
