As if drinking your yearly calorie allowance in booze and gorging on enough potatoes to feed an entire family wasn't enough, now you can be even more excessive this Christmas.
A luxurious set of crackers has gone on sale – with a price tag of £1million.
Instead of tiny bottle openers, mini puzzles and other useless bits of tat, what's hidden inside is a lot more fancy. Each posh cracker contains an even posher diamond, the most expensive of which is a three-carat pear cut gem worth £247,000.
The less-lucky diners could get a four-carat marquise cut, at £212,000, or a £113,000 three-carat oval.
The diamonds have been sourced and hand-picked by jewellers at Tresor Paris and they'll even set the stone in a piece of jewellery for you.
Created by House of Crackers, they can be bought from veryfirstto.com and come wrapped in glorious silver paper. They're even complete with a goose feather, but the retailers have promised to donate £1,000 to The Prince's Trust charity if the crackers sell.
