We've all faced the annoyance of tangled Christmas lights when we're trying to decorate the tree but lucky people in Wrexham can now turn to Tesco's latest employee for some help.
Anya Mugridge has been hired by Tesco Extra Wrexham, where she'll offer her impressive light untangling skills free of charge.
She landed the job after wowing bosses in her interview by untangling three metres of Christmas tree lights in under 90 seconds.
"Christmas is my favourite time of the year and at home it's always me that gets to put up the lights, so I've definitely got the right experience for the job!" she said. "Untangling Christmas tree lights can be frustrating but I find listening to music and having a cuppa gets me into the right frame of mind. I'm really looking forward to helping people with one of the more tricky jobs this Christmas!"
So, why just Wrexham, you ask?
It's because Tesco-commissioned research found Wrexham topped the poll of UK towns most frustrated with tangled lights with 89 per cent of residents admitting annoyance. Half of those surveyed also said they'd rather buy new lights than try untangling old ones.
Paul Birkenhead, Store Manager at Tesco Extra Wrexham, said, "Anya was perfect for the job and truly passionate about Christmas, which was an essential requirement of the job. We're looking to help our customers enjoy the festivities with a series of little, helpful initiatives and with one in six people spending 30 minutes or more trying to untangle Christmas lights each year, we hope that the new service will help relieve some of those festive frustrations locals in Wrexham experience."
