Pad Thai StrEAT is a restaurant run from a van and stationed in a car park in Carlisle.
Alan Bell, 50, and his wife May, 31, incredibly beat 279 other restaurants in the city as part of a TripAdvisor chart.
Serving up Thai street food, May, originally from Thailand, specialises in Bangkok favourites like jungle curry and chicken massaman.
Alan told The Daily Mirror: "It's rewarding enough for us just to read the reviews and know our customers appreciate what we do.
"We saw a mobile fish and chip van and that gave us the idea.
"It was more affordable to do this rather than open a restaurant. Thai street food is getting big. We think it will grow."
