A survey found two in five children genuinely thought she was a member of the royal family.
The three to 10 year olds weren't too far off the mark though - the pudding princess' creations have been complimented by Kate Middleton. The honour!
The research, by Cake Angels, also found the majority of little ones love baking with their dads.
Adorably, more than half spend their pocket money on something baking related.
And it's not just the adults that are obsessed with the BBC One show! 43 per cent of youngsters said their favourite thing to bake is cupcakes, followed by chocolate brownies and then the humble Victoria sponge.
Alexandra Balzaretti, Commercial Controller at Cake Angels told The Daily Mirror: "These new findings show the nation's love for Mary, but more importantly highlight the sheer power of the Bake Off.
"It seems Mary's class act on screen really has the UK's children convinced she's a crowned jewel.
"Baking is really hitting home with all ages and is influencing and inspiring a whole new generation it seems the same way that royalty has done, and continues to do."
