A woman who stole a diamond and then swallowed it, was rumbled after an X-ray ratted her out.

She pinched the £180,000 six-carat gem from a jewellery fair in Bangkok.

But the Chinese woman and her male accomplice were caught on CCTV removing the jewel from the stall and replacing it with a fake.

The six-carat diamond was worth 180k

Coming up with a cunning plan to hide the loot, she gulped it down.

After being identified by the camera footage, police tracked the pair down and scanned her – locating the precious stone in her intestine.

As she wasn't able to pass the diamond naturally, doctors were forced to perform a gut-wrenching op using pliers to remove it.

The Mirror reported she confessed to Thai police, moments after the scan.
