A third of men want to wear skirts to work – and a quarter would consider wearing heels.

What's more, two thirds of them also think it's unfair us women get to wear a skirt while they are frowned upon for wanting to don a mini.

It may be a little unusual, but we're certainly not trying to stop them. A whopping 83 per cent of women questioned said they just want people to feel free to wear what they want.

Research conducted by Barefoot Wine revealed these unusual stats.

These men are walking tall in their heels

The wine company has joined forces with the former semi-finalist on Britain's Got Talent, La Voix.

Together they have launched National Wear What You Want Day, which will take place across the country on Thursday 10 September.

La Voix told The Sun: "To me it's no surprise that a quarter of British men would consider wearing high heels to make them feel taller and more confident, who can blame them?

"Whatever the nation chooses to wear, I am certain that this day will be a huge success."
