Hurrah! Dognapped chocolate chihuahua, Caramel, is finally home – following a two-week search by her devoted owners.

Caramel was stolen after burglars raided the Taylor family home in Harlow, Essex, leaving her eight-year-old owner, Lexie, absolutely distraught.

The schoolgirl suffers from juvenile arthritis and her parents had gifted her the cute canine to encourage her mobility.

Lexie is deighted to have Caramel back in her arms

Parents Tracy and Richard were desperate to find their missing pooch and set up a Facebook group called Find Caramel.

Their posts were shared by 8million people across the globe eager to reunite the family with their prized pet.

And their campaign worked wonders.

The adorable pup was found yesterday after Richard received a phone call from a lady who explained she had their dog, not realising she was stolen.

The lady recognised Caramel straight away after watching Sky News and spotting some posters.

Richard wrote a post on Facebook to tell their supporters the good news: "Lexie returned from school and couldn't believe her eyes.

"Both Lexie and Caramel have played together so much and are now snuggled up on the sofa at home where they belong.

"This is better than winning the lottery!

"You have truly restored our faith in human nature and we are so grateful to every single person who has shared, liked and spread our story."

Aw! We couldn't be happier that Caramel is home, safe and hound.
