It seems like some couples were born to be together - and this certainly seems to be the case for one pair, after they were born at the same hospital less than two hours apart.

Sophie Coles was born at Leicester Royal Infirmary at 11am on 14 March 1989, just two hours after her fiancé, David McDermott.

The pair, both 26, grew up around the corner from each other and became childhood sweethearts after going to the same primary and secondary school together.

They exchanged their first kiss while walking home from school just before they started their GCSEs and became a couple while they were at college together.

The couple, from Wigston, Leicester, didn't realise they'd been born so closely together until they were 16, finding out that they were even born on the same ward.

And if that wasn't enough togetherness, Sophie, a hospital sonographer, and David, a software engineer, even decided to go to Leeds University together.

The couple are now planning on marrying on their tenth anniversary at St Peter's Church, in the East Midlands.

David was quoted in the Daily Express, saying: "When we meet people they don't believe there's only about two hours between us. Our birthday is like a second Christmas day."
