There's nothing like that "new car" smell. And for George Baldwin, that's about as exciting as his brand new car will get – for the next seven years anyway!

Because, at just 12-years-old, George is far too young to drive the flashy new red Mini Cooper, worth £15,000, which he won in a prize draw.

The schoolboy was attending an event in an attempt to help break the Guinness World Record for the largest gathering of people called George in one place.

Though only 105 Georges turned up at Lytham's St George's Day Charity Festival, the youngster was triumphant when TV presenter George Clarke pulled his name from the entries.

The pint-sized prize-winner from Chorley, Lancashire, said: "When I heard about the record attempt, I thought it would be fun to come along with my friend, who's also called George.

"I couldn't believe it when my name was read out and it still hasn't sunk in.

"Now I've just got to wait until I'm old enough to start driving lessons!"
