One adorable little owl landed himself into a spot of trouble after breaking into Dartmoor prison!

The baby bird was found underweight and starving between the prison's inner and outer walls.

Luckily, he was found in just the "nick" of time and was given the nickname Porridge by his rescuers.

It's believed this tawny owl was born in January and, as most don't hatch until April, he's one of the earliest in Britain. How sweet is he?!

Porridge is now being looked after at the Barn Owl Trust in Ashburton, Devon.

A spokesperson at the trust was quoted in the Daily Express saying: "Despite preferring a life behind bars, he will be released into the wild in the summer."

We guess this youngster really is a jailbird...
