John Rothwell has spent three years creating a replica of the famous flying car. And check out how good it looks...
The 51-year-old used the frame of a Reliant Robin – just like the car in Only Fools and Horses – to build the three-wheeled vehicle that comes complete with wings.
John, who is a huge fan of the classic family flick, spent around £4,000 building the car.
The Cambridge-based chap said: "I've always liked the film and a few years ago I joked with my friends that one day I'd build a trike version of the Chitty car and now I have."
He added: "I'm a jeweller by trade, so I'm pretty good with my hands, but even so, this project came with a steep learning curve."
Now all he needs to do is to get it to fly – that really would be impressive!
