Katie Amos and Lee Johnston were unable to jet back to the UK with their son, Dax, as he didn't have a passport.
The pair had gone to New York for a four-day break in early December when their little one arrived eleven weeks early weighing just 3lbs.
Thankfully, the couple, both 30, can finally come back to their home in Lincolnshire, as soon as their four-week-old boy, Dax, has been given the all-clear by doctors.
Lee was quoted in the Daily Mirror explaining: "Getting a passport has been hard work. We quickly had to disconnect Dax from his breathing and feeding tubes just to take his photo."
He added: "Dax is doing really well. As soon as the hospital says he is safe to fly we will bring him home."
Pals of the couple, who are both gym workers, raised around £13,000, as it was feared the hospital bill could reach a whopping £130,000!
But luckily, their insurer Allianz has agreed to cover all costs, including a private jet with a doctor.
We bet they can't wait to get home.
