The power of social media has been put to good use when an online campaign led to a stolen bulldog being returned to his family!

Morris the dog had just celebrated Christmas with his owners, Donna and Mark Ambler, when he was stolen on 27 December.

The couple and their two sons, Connor and Harry, were understandably devastated and immediately took to Facebook to launch a "Get Me Home" page to help find their treasured pup.

Before they knew it, their campaign had gained the support of singer Cher, talk-show host Jeremy Kyle and actress Linda Robson.

So we can only imagine how ecstatic they were when they received a call from a man saying he had bought Morris and was completely unaware that he'd been stolen.

Donna Ambler was quoted in the Daily Express: "We couldn't believe it but we headed there and lo and behold, it was Morris."

The family gave the man £1,200, the price he bought Morris for.

We're so glad that he is back where he belongs. Welcome home, Morris!
