December is a time for giving, even when you don't have anything yourself - and one homeless man proved just this when he offered a university student £3 to make sure she got home safely!

And it just shows, what goes around, comes around, because Dominique Harrison-Bentzen was so touched by the gesture, she is now raising thousands for Robbie.

The 22-year-old Miss Preston finalist had lost her bank card on a night out in Preston, Lancashire when Robbie offered her the change.

Although she didn't accept it, she was so moved by his kindness that she spent the next four days trying to find him to thank him.

And while she was looking, she found that she wasn't the only one Robbie had helped - lots of people she spoke to had stories of him returning lost wallets to passers-by and offering his scarf to those who looked cold.

When she eventually found him and spoke to him about his situation, Dominique decided she wanted to set up the "Help Robbie Fund" to help rebuild his life by helping him raise the deposit for a flat.

She said: "He has been homeless for seven months through no fault of his own and cannot get work due to having no address."

Dominique spent a day on the street with him to help raise money and also set up a gogetfunding page. Her original target was passed within just six hours and now donations have nearly reached £23,000. Go Dominique!

No doubt Robbie's life will be well and truly turned around - and at the best time of year!
