Forget a DJ saving lives - it was four nurses who leapt to one dad's aid when he suffered a heart attack on a night out!

Chris Baron, 56, was dancing the night away with his wife Annette at a Christmas party in Blackpool when he started to feel dizzy and collapsed to the floor.

Thankfully, nurses Louise Newton, 45, Marie Young, 29, Charlie Cookson, 30 and Lindsey Sinddall, 29, were at the same venue and, when they heard about his plight, rushed over to help the father-of-three.

The quick-thinking foursome took turns to perform chest compressions on Chris until an ambulance arrived to take him to A&E.

The chap from Wigan was quoted in the Blackpool Gazette thanking the heroic gang, saying: "I'd have been a goner were it not for these ladies. I feel very thankful to be here."

Nurse Lindsey explained: "The singer (at the night) had asked the different tables to introduce themselves so people knew we were nurses. Someone came over to our table and said a man had collapsed."

Louise added: "He was not breathing initially and we couldn't feel a pulse."

Annette, 50, confirmed: "We are so grateful for what these nurses did."

Chris is now recovering and waiting to hear if he will need surgery.
