A new survey has revealed a rather high percentage of naughty Brits can't resist just sticking to one treat per day, instead tucking into extra advent calendar chocolate rather than waiting day by day. Tut, tut!
The research, commissioned by Cadbury, discovered a whopping 42% of us will actually fail to make it through the month without eating an extra chocolate or two each day.
And it's been revealed that on average, we can only hold off until 16 December before scoffing the whole calendar.
Advent calendars are a childhood staple for most people and it appears as we grow up this doesn't change, with 58% of Brits saying they gift someone else with a calendar each year.
And buying your advent calendar (or one for someone else) is seen as one of the biggest signs the festive season is well and truly upon us!
Other things that signal Christmas include mince pies, hearing Christmas carols, buying your Christmas tree and watching Christmas TV specials.
Emmeline Purcell, brand manager for Cadbury, said: "Advent calendars are a staple Christmas gift and something that makes us all that bit more excited for the big day. Opening the doors each day really helps with the big countdown for Christmas and makes the festive season all the more special for families."
And now for those who'd prefer something other than chocolate, there is a HUGE variety of advent calendars on the market from calendars filled with daily candles to those with nail polishes, beauty treats and more.
WE WANT IT ALL!
