Feeling hungry? Well you'll need to be to eat this mega-calorific Double Doughnut Burger.

This fattening fast-food feast is a whopping 1,996 calories – bear in mind that the NHS recommends a woman should consume 2,000 over a whole day!

British family pub chain Hungry Horse is selling the whopper at its restaurants and we can't help thinking it's step too far on the food front.

The giant piece of grub consists of two beef burgers, four rashers of bacon, lashings of barbecue sauce and melted cheese – all of which is sandwiched inbetween two sugar-glazed doughnuts.

Nutrition expert Mel Wakeman was quoted in the Daily Mail discussing the super indulgent burger: "This is simply ludicrous and irresponsible. I am no killjoy but why is this sort of food available? This burger is literally a heart attack on a plate."

But the pub brand has defended its decision, with a spokesperson explaining: "Our popular menu caters for a variety of tastes and appetites. It includes everything from lower calorie options to the indulgent occasional treat."

We'd definitely have to hit the gym if we munched on one of these!
