Owner Nikki Brighton returned home to find her garden brickabrack scattered over the place - and the shed where she usually stored them, gone.
None of the items were thought to be of any value - but the hut itself was worth £600.
The house in Newton Abbot, Devon, is currently on the market and Nikki first heard of the incident when the estate agents phoned her.
She said to the BBC: "I am pretty disgusted because it is quite a new shed. I am really hopeful that someone knows where it has gone."
Acting Det Sgt Shane Robinson, from the local police force, called the taking of the 6ft by 8ft shed a "very unusual crime".
He appealed to the community: "I believe that someone local would have seen the removal of the shed."
A similar case happened last year in Gloucestershire, when an allotment owner was met by the entire contents of his shed, but the wooden structure had vanished.
