Nigel, an African grey parrot, lived in the US with British owner Darren Chick but unfortunately flapped away back in 2010.
However, since returning home, Nigel has forgotten his native English tongue and now speaks Spanish.
The feathery friend squawks comments like, "Que pasa?" which means, "How's it going?" to passing people.
It's believed that after the bird left his Californian home he spent some time in the wild. Spanish-speaking Julissa Sperling found him a few months ago and took him under her wings.
The local business owner reckons that Nigel would have picked up her Spanish and was quoted in the Daily Mail explaining: "He was the happiest bird. He was singing and talking. He was saying, 'What happened?' in Spanish."
Julissa spent time trying to find the parrot's owner and, with the help of a vet, managed to track down Darren thanks to the pet's microchip.
Darren spoke about his joy of being reunited with his feathered companion: "He's doing perfect. It's really weird. I knew it was him from the minute I saw him."
