Pregnant Sarah Woodman had popped in to have a catch-up with her colleagues at Cherry Tree Care Home while she was on maternity leave but just 20 minutes after arriving, she went into labour.
The care home assistant from Monmouthshire was due to give birth the next day, but soon after she entered her old work place, she realised her baby wasn't waiting around and exclaimed: "Sorry, the baby is on its way!"
Luckily, the home manager, Gill Jones, sprung in to action and delivered baby Jacob in the home's lounge.
Weighing 7lbs 9oz, the newborn was perfectly healthy, much to the relief of the 38 residents.
Gill, 56, was quoted in the Daily Mirror saying: "I've never done midwifery before but I've had a baby of my own. I went with my instincts and kept calm."
Sarah, who is already mum to Emily, five, added: "It isn't every day your boss delivers your baby. But Gill calmed me down and was magnificent."
What a brilliant boss!
