It's definitely not the most traditional church venue, but this modern vicar is bringing his sermons to his local village pub!

In a bid to increase attendance, Rev Jones coaxed punters to join him in prayer at the Walnut Tree pub in Adlington, Kent.

The vicar has moved his prayers to the pub!

And he was successful - as attendees are on the rise to the surprise of this creative clergyman.

But don't get too excited - it's a cup of tea rather than a tipple, as the religious services are taking place at 9am on Wednesday mornings.

"The aim is to meet people instead of expecting them to come to us," Reverend Jones told The Sun. "The last session was attended by 18 people, which is fantastic and more than I expected."

Even the landlady, Karen Barrett, is pleased with the move: "It is a great way to bring the community together."
