It seems like the Loch Ness monster has made its mind up over the Scotland referendum, as it's been spotted swimming in England!

The legendary creature is believed to have lived in the Scottish Highlands for 1,500 years, but yesterday the monster was captured on camera sailing through water in Windermere, Cumbria.

And with the possibility of Scotland soon to become independent, locals wonder if Nessie has made its stance over what it thinks should happen.

Old Nessie was first seen by a couple way back in 1922, when they claimed to have witnessed a 4ft high and 25ft long creature. Since then, hundreds have "seen" the mysterious creature, but the elusive beast's existence has never been confirmed.

The anonymous photographer who took yesterday's (11 September) picture, claims he left his tripod to take snaps throughout the day and later uploaded the photos to his smartphone, where he spotted the image.

Okay, this is clearly a good old Photoshop job, but it's still making people chuckle!
