Lone travelling has boomed in recent years and almost a quarter of Brits have gone on their own solo vacation.
The study, carried out by bespokeoffers.co.uk, also found that a further third of the 2,000 adults surveyed are planning to go it alone in the near future.
But why are we ditching our loved ones for a break to ourselves? Apparently, it's as simple as enjoying spending time on our own.
Others fancied doing something brave, while 27 per cent just wanted to stick to their own schedule rather than compromising.
And we were quite sad to see that a quarter didn't have anyone to go with as all their pals are coupled up. There's nothing worse than being a gooseberry!
Men came top as those most likely to take a trip solo and we were pretty surprised to hear that 15 per cent were inspired by chick-lit reads like Eat, Pray, Love.
Maybe we'll rethink our holiday arrangements for next year?!
